96 Bantam Minors Capture Pics Fall Classic !!!

The 96 Bantam Minors won the Pics Thanksgiving Fall Classic defeating the Springfield Pics 2-1 in the championship game. The Blades defeated the Albany River Rats 2-1, beat the NE Jr Falcons 8-0, and lost to the Pics 3-1 during the qualifying round and earned the #2 seed to advance to the Championship game.

’99 Blades Squirt Majors Win Big in Warwick!!!

The ’99 Blades Squirt Major team won the Warwick, RI Thanksgiving Classic by shutting out Maine’s Casco Bay 3-0 in the championship game! Along the way, they defeated the Edgewood Hawks 4-2, lost 1-0 to the Warwick Wave, beat the Burriville Broncos 3-1, overpowered the Billerica Indians 10-2 in the quarter-finals, and avenged their only loss by beating the Warwick Wave 6-3 in the semi-finals. The Blades won 5 out of 6 games in three days!

The Squirt Skills Competition also produced some Western MA hardware for Nathan Boucher and Michael Warren, who placed second in the Relay Competition and Connor McAnanama who captured the 1st Place trophy in the Goalie Competition.

Season Ends for Bantam Majors and Midgets

he Western Mass Blades Midget program would like to wish all the U18's,
U16#1, U16#2 and Bantam majors good luck for their upcoming High school
and Prep school try-outs and season.

Congratulations to the Bantam Major players and coach Brian Foley for their
success making it to the State Bantam Major national tournament. Even though they
came up short, the experience will always be with them.

Congratulations to the U16 Tier#2 midget players and coach Joe Dubois for
their success making it to the State Tier#2 national midget tournament. They
also came up short, but had some excitement winning their first game in a shootout
and losing to the eventual champions 3-1.

Congratulation to the U16 Tier#1 midget players and coach Jim Pagliaro for posting a 6-4-1 league record and just missing the State League national Tournament.

Congratulations to the U18's and coach Darryl MacDonald , even though the had slow start, and a few close games and some injuries. They managed to improve and finish
strong.

Please note that next season, the Blades Midget program plans on having two U18 and
two U16 teams, both at Tier#1 and Tier#2.
